Stairway to heaven

Dearest friends,

If you’ve been listening to OFRH for awhile, you’re probably aware that Charles and Grace Fuller’s son Dan took part in a number of the Sunday broadcasts. He was in the first graduating class of Fuller Seminary with so many others whom the Lord used mightily, such as Dr. Bill Bright, Dr. Ralph Winter, and Dick Brown who was the baritone in the OFRH quartet. In addition to participating in some of the original broadcasts, Dan also preached and gave the invitation for salvation in June of 2002 on the first program re-introducing the Old Fashioned Revival Hour to the airwaves and internet.

I’m sharing this because in late June, Dr. Daniel P. Fuller went to be with His Lord and Savior at the age of 97. The amazing story of his life and what an inspiring influence he was on countless pastors and teachers is too significant to enumerate here. Please keep Dan’s and Ruth’s children and grandchildren in your prayers these days. The Lord has allowed them (and us) to pass through hard seasons while He does His refining work on each of His children. During those times, one of the qualities He builds into us is humility. Yes, and also patience, so please be meditating on 1 Peter 5:6-11 between now and then.

Dr. Fuller will speak to this on the August 13 broadcast. “The God of All Grace” is the title of his message. Grace (unmerited favor) is the key word here. God knows our weaknesses and frailties. The fact is that our own striving for humility, patience and complete confidence in our Lord’s absolute trust- worthiness is insufficient. It’s entirely because of His grace (made possible by Jesus’ sacrifice for us) that our Heavenly Father orchestrates circumstances in each of our lives. One of the wonderful fruits this process produces is a supernatural outflow of effectively living for Jesus here on earth before we, along with Dan Fuller and so many others, spend an unspeakably glorious eternity with the Lover of our souls.

The music CD we are featuring in August is entitled “Living For Jesus.” It has 16 wonderful piano solos by Rudy Atwood and can be yours for just $16.50 ($18 for Californians due to tax). If you can include a note about yourself, it will be greatly appreciated. Here’s one from a listener in Arkansas: “I’m 93 years old, and more than 85 years ago Dr. Fuller led me to a saving faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while I was seated in the sun parlor of our home with my grandmother…. I have always been moved by the broadcasts of the Old Fashioned Revival Hour, the music and the spoken Word.”

Hoping to hear from you,
