Dear Radio Family,
During the month of October Dr. Fuller will continue to be our tour guide in the Book of Genesis. Last month he described the days of Noah and how the culture around him had gone completely evil. According to Genesis 6:5 the thoughts and intents (purposes) of every one of the thousands of human beings surrounding Noah were only evil continually.
“But Noah found grace [favor] in the eyes of the Lord” (verse 8). He had not taken his eyes off the Lord. He loved the Lord and was passionate about knowing Him and pleasing Him. As I said awhile back, let that helmet of salvation (Ephesians 6:17) protect our minds from dwelling on the lies of the enemy swirling about us. Guard your heart and mind, dear friend. “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly…” that the God of hope may “fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Colossians 3:1 and Romans 15:13). Noah was not conformed to his world but was transformed in his thinking by believing God’s promise and warning. He and his sons then presented their bodies to the work entrusted to them (see Romans 12:1-2 and Hebrews 11:7).
Moving ahead in Genesis this month, we’ll also consider the faith journeys of Abraham and of Joseph, two more priceless examples of obeying God in the midst of confusing cultures and circumstances. And today we believers are surrounded by those who call evil good and call good evil. Therefore, it’s imperative for us to follow the examples of Noah, Abraham and Joseph. Otherwise, our thoughts will deteriorate into fear, faithlessness, sin and complete forgetfulness where the promises of God are concerned. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB).
Well, perhaps music can increase your trust-factor and extend some grace to you. Since Noah and others found grace in the eyes of the Lord, this month we’re featuring our CD entitled “Amazing Grace” by the OFRH men’s quartet. There are 16 songs, and the CD can be yours for just $16.50 which includes shipping ($18.00 for Californians due to tax).
This summer we received an encouraging note from an older couple living in Sanger, California. It says, “Thank you so much for providing the weekly programs of Charles & Grace Fuller. They are very refreshing, and the message is still uplifting for today.” A few words, but a big blessing to us! And their comments remind us that, in addition to God’s grace, Dr. Fuller also had the companionship of Grace throughout his many years of ministry.
Thankful for God’s grace,
Michael Khanchalian, D.D.S.
